Visualize Zentry spend data in Tableau dashboards for deeper financial insights
Support
Tableau is the industry-leading data visualization and business intelligence platform. By connecting Zentry as a live data source, finance and analytics teams can build interactive dashboards that reveal spending patterns, budget trends, and cost drivers across the entire organization.
Drag-and-drop visualizations in Tableau turn Zentry transaction data into heatmaps, trend lines, and drill-down tables — going far beyond the built-in reports available in most expense tools.
Scheduled data refreshes ensure dashboards always display current figures, enabling data-driven budget conversations in board meetings and quarterly reviews.
Tableau Desktop or Tableau Online/Server. The Zentry connector is available as a Tableau Web Data Connector (WDC) or via the direct PostgreSQL export feature. Tableau Creator license required to build dashboards.
For live connections, your network must allow Tableau Server or Tableau Online to reach Zentry's API endpoint. For extracted connections, schedule refreshes via Tableau's built-in extract refresh.
In Zentry Settings → Integrations → Tableau, generate a read-only API token scoped to analytics exports. Copy the WDC URL provided.
In Tableau Desktop, go to Connect → Web Data Connector, paste the Zentry WDC URL, and authenticate with your API token. Select the tables (expenses, budgets, vendors) to include in your data source, then build your first visualization.
